Mandatory training

Mandatory training provides an overview of what it means to work within a legal and ethical framework and is informed by, and in compliance with:

• relevant commonwealth and state legislation
• Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service (the code) and Standard of Practice​
• relevant directives
• Department of Education policies.

Departmental employees

All departmental employees complete mandatory training upon commencement with the department. Staff are also required to undertake mandatory training annually or as required throughout the duration of their employment.

Departmental staff can check the Mandatory Training Ready Reckoner and enrol in programs that apply to their role by searching 'induction' on OnePortal.

Volunteers, contractors, visitors, preservice teachers and other adult students on placement

Visitors, volunteers, contractors, preservice teachers and other adult students on placements are required to review the Mandatory All-Staff Training key messages guide and complete a declaration annually.
