Physiotherapists support schools to ensure that children and students with disability are able to access, participate and achieve in the full range of activities that make up their schooling. Using contemporary approaches and evidence informed practice, physiotherapists provide advice to schools on tailored supports to ensure students are safe at school and have equitable access to education.

You will work collaboratively with teachers, teacher aides, other allied health professionals and specialist support staff. Your role will include supporting school improvement and providing professional development for staff who support students with disability.

The students you will work with are aged 0–18 years and could have disabilities that impact their physical, sensory, cognitive or social functioning.

Our service delivery model is participation focused. This means you get to use a range of approaches, support cultural change and enable young people to have fulfilling lives during and after their schooling journey.

Physiotherapists provide services to a number of schools. Most of the time, physiotherapists are based in a school with other health professionals. You will receive professional supervision from a physiotherapist.
