The plan aligns with the Queensland Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy, and incorporates the Queensland Government's targets for 2050 of 25% reduction in household waste, 90% of waste recovered and not going to landfill, and 75% recycling rates across all waste types.

Key objectives

  • Build a culture of efficiency and waste avoidance
  • Measure, monitor and report performance
  • Encourage innovation in management and minimisation of waste

We will continue to focus our waste reduction and recycling efforts through education, and the delivery of school-based initiatives that support local community efforts to improve waste reduction and recycling practices.
