The department is planning to deliver the Rockhampton Health Sciences Academy to fast-track local Year 10–12 students into health careers.
The academy will offer students learning pathways in health sciences, including early access to university, while completing their secondary schooling close to home. The academy will work with industry, university and training organisations to deliver quality educational outcomes for students.
Purpose-built facilities, including advanced simulation environments and innovative digital learning spaces, will deliver real-world learning experiences.
Preliminary consultation and infrastructure planning has been undertaken, with the academy progressing to the design phase shortly.
The department will share more information with the community when it is available.
