New facilities for Goodna Special School

The Queensland Government is planning a long-term solution to cater for future student numbers in the Goodna area. With enrolments at Goodna Special School increasing by more than 80% since 2020, the government is working to ensure the school has the necessary facilities to support its growing community.

Stage 1 delivered—ready for Term 1 2026

Stage 1 has been delivered, ready for Term 1 2026.

Stage 1 includes:

  • removal of 2 existing single-storey temporary buildings (6 classrooms) and an amenities building
  • replaced with a temporary 2-storey prefabricated building (12 classrooms and amenities).

Proposed Stage 2

The proposed developments will include:

  • a new play space including a partially covered playground with access ramp and lift
  • a car park for staff and school community
  • amenities.
