Nick Seeley

As Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure Services, Nick is responsible for driving delivery of one of the Queensland Government’s highest priorities—education infrastructure.
Across more than 1,260 schools, 36,000 learning spaces and facilities, 24 Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres and 170 early childhood services on department-owned land, the infrastructure portfolio is responsible for building, maintaining, improving and renewing critical education facilities to support positive outcomes for young Queenslanders.

​​​​Before joining the Infrastructure Services division, Nick spent 15 years as Executive Director in the Office of the Director-General. Nick oversaw the organisation’s diverse functions delivered by 95,000 staff across infrastructure, corporate services, early childhood, policy, performance, planning, legal services and state schooling.

Nick has close to 4 decades’ experience with the Queensland Public Service, leading service delivery in portfolios including Justice and Attorney-General, partnerships with First Nations communities, training, industrial relations and racing.

Nick is committed to helping create safe, sustainable and suitable facilities that provide contemporary teaching and learning environments for students and teachers, while building the capability, performance and wellbeing of the division’s greatest asset—​its people.
