A great start for all Queensland children: An early years plan for Queensland
The whole-of-government early years plan, is part of the Queensland Government’s objectives for the community to support all Queensland children to have a great start in life.
The early years plan sets out actions to achieve our vision to ensure our children reach their full potential with the support of their families, service providers and the wider community.
The early years plan outlines the actions the Queensland Government is taking to support Queensland children’s early learning, health and wellbeing as they grow—from their first 1,000 days, when they branch out into to the wider world, and when they successfully transition into their first years of schooling. The plan also includes information to help families and communities support children as they progress through these stages.
Queensland children’s wellbeing framework
As part of the early years plan, the Queensland Government is committed to implementing the
Queensland children’s wellbeing framework, providing a common language, aspirations and commitments for the wellbeing of Queensland children aged 0 to 8.
We seek for our children to be strong in self and culture, active and healthy, happy and resilient, learning and exploring, and capable and connected. Recognising we all play a part in children's wellbeing. the framework sets out the shared commitment of government and the community to provide children with fundamental rights and needs, love and nurturing, inclusion and opportunity, and enrichment and challenge.
