School officers (grounds and facilities)

​​As a schools officer, you will be working on grounds and/or facilities maintenance.

Non-teaching staff must undergo a Working with Children Check and be issued with a Blue Card to work in a school. Your principal or business services manager will help you with this.

Role description

Your role description provides an overview of the work you will undertake and specific tasks will be allocated by your supervisor.

Line manager

Depending on the size and structure of your school, your line manager will be either the business services manager or your school principal.

Employment conditions

Your conditions of employment are derived from the award and the current certified agreement (DoE​ employees only) for your position.

You may have friendly relationships with families that are part of the school community. It is important that you do not discuss students or staff with anyone.
