The Department of Education is working with individual schools, the region and stakeholders such as the Department of Housing Public Works to ensure as many schools as possible are able to re-open by the start of next week.

Safety of students, parents, staff and the local community paramount and state schools will only re-open when it is safe to do so. Each school will have a comprehensive operational and safety assessment undertaken prior to opening.
