Early Childhood Education and Care Services Census

The Queensland Early Childhood Education and Care Services Census is an annual data collection from the early childhood education and care sector.

Census participants include all approved early childhood education and care services, including long day care, kindergarten, family day care, outside school hours care and state and non-state schools that provide kindergarten programs in rural/remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Collected information is used for planning and program development, monitoring outcomes of early childhood initiatives such as universal access to kindergarten and the implementation of the National Quality Framework.

It is important for all early childhood education and care services to complete the census and ensure the information provided is accurate and up-to-date. Census data helps to inform current and future government initiatives, and is useful for communities and services in determining the characteristics of early childhood education and care provision in Queensland.
