Early childhood teacher bridging program

If you're a primary school teacher, you can fast track your career and complete a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care within 6 to 12 months of full-time study (depending on the skills and knowledge you need to successfully transition to early childhood teaching).

Benefits of an early childhood teaching qualification

With an early childhood teaching qualification, you get access to more job opportunities and choices in your teaching career, including where you'd like to teach—closer to home maybe?

You can also work in different early childhood settings, such as large privately owned organisations, community based or not-for-profit services, or services on school grounds.

The National Quality Framework means your approved early childhood qualification will be recognised Australia-wide.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible to participate in the bridging program if you hold:

  • a primary teaching qualification that includes a focus on children aged 3-8 or 5-12 years old
  • teacher registration in Australia (or accreditation in NSW).
