Current operational status
Queensland state schools will be operating under COVID normal conditions. However, in some circumstances, schools may be required to implement restrictions.
- From Friday 9 September 2022, the isolation period for anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will reduce from 7 days to 5 days, as long as the person does not have any symptoms.
- COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required in education settings.
- Queensland's declared public health emergency has been extended to 11.59pm, 22 September 2022.
- Close contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19 must wear a face mask in schools or early childhood services.
The following applies to all Queensland state schools and provides guidance to inform decision-making where one or all schools are closed.
