Acting Deputy Director-General, Policy, Performance and Planning

Lesley Robinson

Lesley Robinson is the acting Deputy Director-General, Policy, Performance and Planning and is responsible for driving a strategic approach to the portfolio’s strategic policy development, governance and organisational performance across early childhood and schooling at a whole-of-government and national level.​

​​The Policy, Performance and Planning Division coordinates major internal and external research, reviews and evaluations and leads the development of the portfolio's legislative instruments, performance monitoring and reporting functions, and governance, risk and planning activity.

The division oversights the management of grants for non-state education, the delivery of services through Home Education and the Australian Music Examination Board and supports several portfolio statutory bodies. The division provides professional registration services to providers of courses to international students and supports the independent Non-State School Accreditation Board (NSSAB).​

Lesley has held strategic leadership positions in the department over many years including leading Strategy and Performance for the portfolio for the last three years. ​She has extensive experience in governance, organisational performance and in planning, program development and reform in the public sector.
