Deborah also oversees the Education Improvement Branch, which supports continuous improvement, accountability and system-wide collaboration across Queensland’s state schools and education centres through school and system reviews that are informed by the National School Improvement Tool.
A highly respected educational leader with more than 30 years of experience across the state, Deborah’s previous roles include Regional Director in Far North Queensland and the inaugural Assistant Director-General, Disability and Inclusion, where she led the cultural reform and implementation of the Queensland Disability Review across the agency.
Deborah is known for her passion for inclusive practice, along with her capacity to inspire leadership teams in early years settings and schools by challenging them to reflect on their practice and adopt an evidenced-based improvement focus. In this way, she ensures all stakeholders are committed to high quality, safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environments.
