World titles await high school snooker champ

Joe in action at the 2019 Australian Junior Championships

Joe, a student from James Nash State High School, recently became the youngest member of the men's Queensland snooker team.

In June, Joe will join his team mates in Blackpool, England, to represent his country at the world titles. This is impressive given he has only been involved in the sport for 5 years.

Also a member of the Australian Eight-Ball Junior Team, Joe said he has loved the sport from the moment he picked up a cue. As a junior he was recognised as one of the best players in Australia after he finished in second place at the Junior Eight-Ball Nationals in Darwin.

"I've always played here locally in Gympie and loved it. It's a great hobby for those who love competitive sports. You meet heaps of new friends, and it teaches you discipline and concentration skills," he said.
