Harmony Day celebrated in Queensland schools

​Queensland school students celebrating Harmony Day

Harmony Day is celebrated on 21 March every year. The day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.

Did you know?

  • According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, nearly half (49%) of Australians were born overseas or have at least 1 parent who was.

  • Apart from English, the most common languages spoken in Australia are Mandarin, Arabic, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, Tagalog/Filipino, Hindi, Spanish and Punjabi.

  • More than 70 Indigenous languages are spoken in Australia.
